Let us feed each other with the nectar of this love. (poem)

I drink from the fountain of you greedily.

Not shyly.

I curl up close to you and tell you exactly what I need, what I think, what I feel.

I whisper it; sometimes I roar it into your ear like a desperate prayer.

And you--

You love it. You honor it.

You honor me. You love me.

I curl up close to the roaring fire of your being and bask in your exquisite heat

I warm the chilly parts of my heart greedily

Not shyly at all.

For I am hungry for you, downright ravenous---and I am not afraid to show it.

I am not afraid to show just how much this love has me tangled up in the most delicious way.

I am not afraid to admit that you give me so much by being you

And I receive you with wide open arms.

For you fill the aching places in me that I cannot fill myself.

You are an ineffable river, an ever-flowing stream

And you drip your love into the chapped desert-like cracks of my heart that need it most.

I receive you. You receive me.

I give to you.You give to me.

Cyclically.

Ever-flowing.

I will never back away from

This that we share.

I need it, I need you.

For you, next to you, with you

I have laid my soul bare.

And in this nakedness, I have flourished.

We both have.

Drink from me, darling.

And I will drink from you.

Like hummingbirds,

Let us feed each other with the nectar of this love

Until we are so overflowing

That we almost cannot bear to taste joy this sweet

And when we are so full

Let us share this joy, this love, this innate force of blossoming creativity

With the world.

I thank you, my love.

I thank you from the deepest recesses of my soul.

Now, come closer.

Open wide.

I am hungry for you, downright ravenous---and I am not afraid to show it.

Let us feed each other with the never-ending nectar of this love.
